The American Star Ball is an annual competition hosted by Ilya and Amanda in Atlantic City, New Jersey at the Golden Nugget. This year, we had a number of couples competing at the event and all our couples had fantastic results.

The same week that Patryk and Anna became USA’s most successful Junior couple in the history of the Junior Blackpool Dance Festival (by making three finals and a semi-final in their four events), Patryk and Anna had one of the most impressive USA Dance National DanceSport Championships. Winning the Youth Ten-Dance Championships, the Youth Standard Championships, and placing second in the Youth Latin Championships (not winning by only one dance!), Patryk and Anna have already become the most decorated Youth Couple in the US Nationals history and this was their first time competing in this category! Patryk and Anna are truly one of the most exciting couples to watch in the USA and watching them grow in the past number of years has been a true gift! Thank you Patryk and Anna for your dedication to the sport of dancing.

Stanislav and Jessica made all three of their finals at this year’s US Nationals and placed 4th in their last event, the Youth Championship Standard. From the Youth Ten-Dance to the Youth Latin and most recently the Youth Standard, Stanislav and Jessica made the most of all their opportunities and were able to capitalize and make all three finals. Mark and Anna rounded out the Youth Pre-Champ Latin final and placed an impressive sixth in the event. A wonderful result for Mark and Anna and their hard-work speaks for itself with such a result. What makes this even more admirable is the fact that Mark and Anna are one of BDSC’s newest formed couples and already have become US National finalists!

This was yet another final where BDSC had multiple couples competing, with Patryk and Anna becoming the Vice-Champions and Stanislav and Jessica placing 4th in the Youth Latin at the 2013 USA Dance National DanceSport Championships. BDSC has had already over a dozen US National finalists this year with one full day left to go and with a line-up of coaches that include US National Champions and World finalists, it is easy to see why our members are also US National Champions and World finalists! A special congratulations to Patryk and Anna for also being able to represent the United States and BDSC at the 2013 World Youth Latin Championships.

Not only did BDSC have 3 amazing US National Champions Friday evening (Pasha Stepanchuk and Anastasiya Danilova winning Amateur Latin, Evgeniy Raev and Gabriella Sabler winning Under-21 Latin and Patryk Ploszaj and Anna Kaczmarski winning Youth Ten-Dance), BDSC also had 3 finalists in these events! Evgeniy and Gabriella placed 3rd in the Amateur Latin while we had two finalists at the Youth Ten-Dance Championships: Stanislav Pavlov and Jessica Karpishin and Christian Yeung and Samanta Filip. Stanislav and Jessica stood on the podium by placing third and Christian and Samanta placed 6th in the Youth Ten-Dance Championships. An amazing start to the USA Nationals for Brooklyn DanceSport Club’s couples!

Patryk and Anna followed their amazing Junior Blackpool results by going straight to the 2013 USA Dance National Championships in Los Angeles, California and claiming the Youth Ten-Dance Crown. They started their Youth National Championships exactly where they left off with their Junior National Championships, by winning the Ten-Dance event. We want to congratulate Patryk and Anna for being Brooklyn DanceSport Club’s most versatile couple (competing at a high level in both Standard and Latin) and for their amazing result Friday evening, and we wish them continued success in their Youth career!

Jonathan and Hanna have only begun competing in the Youth category this year and have already made a mark amongst the competition with impressive results earlier this year, culminating with a win this weekend at the 2013 Tri-State Challenge DanceSport Championships. They are one of BDSC’s most active and hard-working couples and it is easy to see how all this time and effort put on the practice floor can pay off when you have such a fantastic result. Congratulations to Jonathan and Hanna on this amazing win!

The New Jersey DanceSport Classic Spring Fling  is an annual event presented by Mario Battista and Wendi Davies held at Roger’s Dance Center in Hackensack, New Jersey (formerly the  Battista Dance Studio).  This event is one of the 3 New Jersey DanceSport Classic events (Summer Sizzler and Fall Frolic being the other two). Congratulations to everyone!
