Very charismatic performance form our Junior Pre-Championship class. Those kids love what they do. How do we know that for sure? They didn’t just remember their choreography, they also showed a great deal of rhythm, partnering, and skill. All of this was done with a smile throughout their performance.

Samba Performance at 2013 Brooklyn DanceSport Club Anniversary
Congratulations to Patryk Ploszaj and Anna Kaczmarski for Making the Final and Placing 6th in the Junior II Standard Championships at the 2013 Junior Blackpool Dance Festival
Patryk and Anna are 3 for 3 in terms of making the final at their events at the 2013 Junior Blackpool Dance Festival with a number of other events still to come this week. This is a remarkable feat considering that not only are they dancing and performing at a high level, but they are doing it in 2 different categories, Standard and Latin! They made the final in the Viennese Waltz, the Samba and most recently the Five Dance Standard Championships. Anyone who has competed in Ten-Dance knows how hard it is to compete at such a high level in both categories and Patryk and Anna are making it look easy. Brooklyn DanceSport Club is proud of Patryk and Anna and the hard work they put in practicing is paying off. What they are doing at this competition has never been achieved by another Junior American couple and we are wish them continued success!

Patryk and Anna are off to a perfect start at the 2013 Junior Blackpool Dance Festival in Blackpool, England by making the final of their first two events. In their first event, they placed 4th in the Junior II Viennese Waltz and then they followed that result by becoming the 2013 Junior II Samba Vice-Champions at the Junior Blackpool Dance Festival. If they continue this amazing streak of results, they may be one of America’s most decorated Junior couples in Blackpool! We wish them luck in the rest of the events this week.

This was a great performance to watch from Dmitriy and Olena. It is not just the blond hair or shiny golden costumes that captured our attention. This couple has unbelievable chemistry and ‘togetherness’ when they dance. Despite being a very compact couple they dance large. Very rhythmical and always explosive performers.

An exciting beginning to April for BDSC!
Last month’s fabulous results at the US Nationals were followed by a collection of exciting events and news at Brooklyn DanceSport Club.
BDSC’s April first started off with hosting 2 of the greatest Latin couples in the world, Michael Malitowski with Joanna Leunis and Sergey Sourkov with Agnieszka Melnicka. Michael and Joanna taught private lessons and a seminar at the studio on April 12th while Sergey and Melia taught a couple of private lessons on April 13th! It was amazing seeing such talented dancers teach our students and the energy and vibe that they give off is truly astonishing!
Following the visit, a group of BDSC couples (Denys Drozdyuk and Antonina Skobina, Pasha Stepanchuk and Anastasiya Danilova, Jason Dai and Patrycja Golak, Dmitry Nikishkin and Olena Shvets, Guy Platt and Victoria Mroz, Stas Pavlov and Beatrice Polyakova, and Ryan Raffloer and Shelby Joy Cole) performed at this year’s Dance Legends. The show, which was choreographed by BDSC’s very own Eugene Katsevman and Maria Manusova, was quite breath-taking and was received very well by the crowd, with some people even giving a standing ovation.
Quite possibly the most exciting news of April thus far were the results of our Junior couples at the Junior Blackpool Festival. Patryk Ploszaj and Anna Kaczmarski had an incredible Junior Blackpool experience, placing 10th (out of 170) at the Junior Latin and 5th (out of 125) at the Junior Jive. Christian Yeung and Alexis Turko also had a successful Blackpool, placing 52nd (out of 170) at the Junior Latin and 36th (out of 125) at the Junior Jive. Larry Tokar and Juliana Hoff’s best result came at the Junior Samba, where they placed 32nd (out of 164).
