The explosive energy and Artur and Patrycja’ spirit make this Jive one of our favorite performances at this event. Ballroom dancing is like life: sometimes we fall, sometimes we make mistakes, sometimes the music stops… This is exactly what happened at this performance. Artur and Patrycja showed us an easy, playful spirit, which made us love them even more.

As hard as our students practice and as much time and effort that they devote to the sport of dance, their success at the 2013 USA Dance Nationals DanceSport Champions and in general would not be possible without the even harder work and dedication that our coaching staff commits to their students, our members and the studio. Congratulations to all the Brooklyn DanceSport Club competitors representing New York and BDSC at the 2012 Ohio Star Ball!
The Ohio Star Ball began as a one day showcase 35 years ago, under the direction of Sam Sodano. With equal amounts of creativity, courage and perseverance, Sam has developed this Championship into the largest Pro/Am competition, not only in North America, but in the world today. Held in November in Columbus, Ohio at the Hyatt Regency and televised on PBS, the Ohio Star Ball hosts several national championship events.
Andrei Kazlouski and Asta Sigvaldadottir were only behind world Champions, Riccardo Cocchi and Yulia Zagoruychenko, and Blackpool Finalists, Maurizio Vescovo and Andre Vaidilaitev on this night. Brooklyn DanceSport Club Couples Featured on this Month’s Edition of the Dance Beat Newspaper – One of the Most Read Ballroom Dance Publications
Check out the following pictures and reviews of our couples for their participation in the Killick Klassic, Embassy Ball, and many other competitions!

…second place was awarded to Denys Drozdyuk & Antonina Skobina who took second in every dance but the samba where they placed third.

“Marat Gimaev & Alina Basyuk(NY) 1,1,1,1,1. I admire their effort in putting a lot of basic steps in their routines. I wish more couples would approach dancing the same way. …in my opinion they were the clear winners.”

“5th place – Andre Kazlouski & Asta Sigvaladottir. This couple has risen very quickly in the ranks with an amazing result at Blackpool. I have always loved Andrei’s dancing…very spontaneous and musical and in (Asta) he has found a great foil to his style. This is a couple that has a very good future ahead of them.”

“…Well groomed, balanced in height and weight…this is a team that will grow with experience, they have so much talent within themselves. Whatever track you are on, stick with it, you show so much promise. Well done!”

“…Andre & Asta for me right now have terrific energy they also are dancing as if every time is their last and that is a terrific quality. Some couples can sometimes look as if they are just going through the motions but not them, at least for now. I was not surprised to see Andrei & Asta being placed so highly…”
