This week, Dmitry and Olena traveled to Los Angeles, California to partake in the 2013 Emerald Ball DanceSport Championships and had yet another amazing result. Dmitry and Olena are still yet to place outside the top 2 in any Professional Rising-Star Latin event and continued that streak this week by placing second in the Professional Rising-Star Latin. This was a close competition between first and second with Dmitry and Olena winning the Samba and the top two couples taking the majority of the first and second places from judges. We at BDSC commend Dmitry and Olena for their hard work on and off the dance floor and their results truly reflect that.

Congratulations to Dmitry Nikishkin and Olena Shvets for Placing 5th in the Professional Latin at the 2013 Philadelphia Festival and The Atlantic Coast DanceSport Championships
Dmitry and Olena traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to compete at the 2013 Philadelphia Festival and The Atlantic Coast DanceSport Championships where they were able to sustain their incredible results as Professionals by placing 5th in the Professional Latin. With couples like Riccardo Cocchi and Yulia Zagoruychenko competing at the event, this final was filled with US Professional Latin National Finalists and Dmitry and Olena were able to hold their own in this final and place an impressive 5th. If Dmitry and Olena keep the constant improvement and wonderful results, there is not telling where this couple may go!

While our Amateur couples were competing at the 2013 USA Dance Nationals last weekend, Dmitry and Olena continued their red-hot streak as Professionals by placing 1st in both the Professional Latin and the Professional Rising-Star Latin at the 2013 Michigan DanceSport Classic. Dmitry and Olena have made almost every final they competed in Professional Latin and placed top 2 in every Professional Rising Star Latin event they danced in since turning Professional. A simply amazing streak of results from Dmitry and Olena and we wish them much continued success!

As hard as our students practice and as much time and effort that they devote to the sport of dance, their success at the 2013 USA Dance Nationals DanceSport Champions and in general would not be possible without the even harder work and dedication that our coaching staff commits to their students, our members and the studio. The level to which our coaches exert themselves is quite remarkable considering that they are up on their feet and active from morning until night. This was a great performance to watch from Dmitriy and Olena. It is not just the blond hair or shiny golden costumes that captured our attention. This couple has unbelievable chemistry and ‘togetherness’ when they dance. Despite being a very compact couple they dance large. Very rhythmical and always explosive performers.
