Marat and Alina missed the prestigious final by only one place. Their consistent progress in both their results and dancing was the story of the competition for them. They are role models to their students and younger generations an an example of what can be achieved with consistently working towards your goals. Starting today, BDSC is having a number of couples competing at this year’s Blackpool Dance Festival and we wish them the best of luck. From our two national Amateur Latin Champions, Pasha Stepanchuk/Anastasiya Danilova and Denys Drozdyuk/Antonina Skobina, to our Professional Standard coaches, Marat Gimaev and Alina Basyuk, these couples have been training hard for this moment and are ready for the year’s most prestigious competition. Marat and Alina placed an impressive 9th at the 2013 WDC World Championships – Professional Ballroom amongst the best Profesional ballroom couples in the world. With couples like Arunas Bizokas & Katusha Demidova and Victor Fung & Anastasia Muravyeva, Marat and Alina competed and placed amongst the world’s elite.

Dear members, please note that due to the 2013 WDC Professional Ballroom World Championships in Moscow, Russia the Standard seminar on Wednesday April, 17th has been moved to Friday, April 26th at 7 PM. This weekend, Marat and Alina will be traveling to their home country of Russia to compete at what might be their most important competition as Professionals, the 2013 WDC Professional Ballroom World Championships. This is going to be Marat and Alina’s first time competing in a Professional Ballroom World Championships and they have been training and working non-stop to prepare for this very important event. This could easily be a turning point in their Professional career and catapult them to an even higher world ranking that they undoubtedly deserve. BDSC is wishing them good luck this weekend!

As hard as our students practice and as much time and effort that they devote to the sport of dance, their success at the 2013 USA Dance Nationals DanceSport Champions and in general would not be possible without the even harder work and dedication that our coaching staff commits to their students, our members and the studio. The level to which our coaches exert themselves is quite remarkable considering that they are up on their feet and active from morning until night. This dedication from our coaches and the atmosphere that they create in the studio is exactly why BDSC has had so much recent success! Every year at the end of February/beginning of March, countries across East Asia host a number of competitions that are part of the Asian Tour. This year, our Professional Standard Coaches, Marat Gimaev and Alina Basyuk, traveled to Tokyo, Taipei and Seoul to take a part in the 2013 Asian Tour.
