BDSC’s Two 2013 Amateur Latin United States National Champions featured on “Dance Beat”

This year, BDSC had 2 Amateur Latin National Champions with Denys Drozdyuk and Antonina Skobina becoming the 2013 United States Amateur Latin Champions and Pasha Stepanchuk and Anastasiya Danilova  becoming the 2013 USA Dance Amateur Latin Champions. These two couples encompass what hard-work, dedication and perseverance can achieve.  Both of these couple was featured on the Front Page of  Dance Beat. We are proud of these couples and wish them further success defending their National titles.

Congratulations to Denys Drozdyuk and Antonina Skobina for Placing 10th in the Amateur Latin at the Freedom to Dance Championships in London, England

This weekend, Denys and Antonina competed in the Freedom to Dance Championships and made the semi-final of the event, competing against some of the world’s top couples. As the 2013 United States National Amateur Champions, Denys and Antonina have consistently been one of the top performing couples in International competitions such as the Freedom to Dance Championships and have been preparing hard for the year’s biggest competition, the 2013 Blackpool Dance Festival.  We would like to wish them the best of luck later this month in this competition!

The 2013 NDCA United States National Amateur Championships are hosted annually at the Marriott Center in the Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. This year, BDSC had 8 couples competing at the event with 3 National Championships and 5 Nationals Finalists.

“Photo of the Week” – Denys Drozdyuk and Antonina Skobina winning the 2013 NDCA US National Amateur Latin Championships

This week’s “Photo of the Week” features Denys Drozdyuk and Antonina Skobina and their amazing, second consecutive, NDCA US National Amateur Latin Championship win. Denys and Antonina displayed a fantastic showing, demonstrating a full packaged performance with a high level of dancing, unique choreography and great presentation. Congratulations to Denys and Antonina for becoming the 2013 NDCA United States National Amateur Latin Champions!

Congratulations to the BDSC Finalists at the 2013 NDCA United States National Latin Championships in Provo, Utah

Brooklyn DanceSport Club had 3 couples at this year’s NDCA US National Latin Championships final in Provo, Utah with BDSC representing half of the finalists at the event.  Denys Drozdyuk and Antonina Skobina won the event for the second year in a row and became the 2013 NDCA US National Amateur Latin Champions. Alex Karaulov and Vlada Semenova had an amazing result at their first competition together by placing 4th in this very competitive final. Pasha Stepanchuk and Anastasiya Danilova displayed some of the most magnificent dancing on the floor and placed sixth in the final. Congratulations to Denys Drozdyuk and Antonina Skobina for becoming 2013 NDCA US National Amateur Latin Champions, Alex and Vlada for a wonderful beginning to their partnership together and to Pasha and Anastasiya for amazing dancing on the evening.

Denys and Antonina continued their consistent results with yet another quarter-final appearance at a major competition. They are inching themselves towards the highly coveted semi-final, this time missing it by only a couple of recalls. After placing 14th at the WDC World Championships, Denys and Antonina are pumped and ready for their next major competition, the UK Open!

Pasha and Anastasiya followed their WDSF Amateur Latin World Championship Quarter-Final appearance, with a Quarter-Final appearance at the WDC Amateur Latin World Championships. A fantastic 21st place result once again for this quickly improving and hard-working couple. Pasha and Anastasiya will be practicing now for their next major competition, the UK Open but in the meantime, they will be looking to defend their Regional Championship Title at the 2013 Manhattan Amateur Classic!

Good luck to all the BDSC Competitors Competing at the 2012 WDC World Ballroom and Latin Championships in Paris, France!

This weekend, Brooklyn DanceSport Club will be having 6 of our couples competing at the 2012 World Dance Council Ballroom and Latin World Championships in Paris, France. This will be most of the couple’s first time competing in this event, and they have all been practicing extremely hard for this very important event. We want to wish luck to:

The Ohio Star Ball began as a one day showcase 35 years ago, under the direction of Sam Sodano. With equal amounts of creativity, courage and perseverance, Sam has developed this Championship into the largest Pro/Am competition, not only in North America, but in the world today. Held in November in Columbus, Ohio at the Hyatt Regency and televised on PBS, the Ohio Star Ball hosts several national championship events.

Andrei Kazlouski and Asta Sigvaldadottir were only behind world Champions, Riccardo Cocchi and Yulia Zagoruychenko, and Blackpool Finalists, Maurizio Vescovo and Andre Vaidilaitev on this night. Absolutely remarkable dancing and we are proud to have such a hard-working and dedicated couple represent BDSC!
Professional Latin Championships: 3rd 

Denys Drozdyuk and Antonina Skobina kept on par with their competitors and displayed a very high level of technical expertise. 
Amateur Latin Championships: 3rd  

Artur Tarnavskyy and Patrycja Golak had a truly fantastic result only after a few months of dancing together, beating some of the best couples in America!

Patryk Ploszaj and Anna Kaczmarski, our Junior All-Stars, showed why they are considered our “Junior All-Stars” with amazing dancing and results!

Evgeny Raev and Gabrielle Sabler continued their string of amazing results from the Dutch Open, by becoming the Ohio Star Ball Under-21 Latin Vice-Champions!

Dmitry Nikishkin and Olena Shvets became the Ohio Star Ball Professional Rising-Star Latin Vice-Champions in only their second competition together as Professionals!
Professional Rising-Star Latin: 2nd

Stanislav Savich and Annie He Xiao stayed on pace with their results by having a solid night of fantastic dancing.
Professional Rising-Star Latin: 3rd

Levy Agaronnik and Danielle Malpa keep building on their past results, and improving with every single competition in dancing and results.

Leor Hofman and Amanda Herrschaft continue their improbable run of wonderful results as one of BDSC’s newest and up and coming couples.

Larry Tokar and Juliana Hoff have achieved remarkable results through a lot of recent adversity and we are proud of their dedication and perseverance.
