BDSC 2013 USA Dance National Champions

This week’s “Photo of the Week” features all our US National Champions from this year’s USA Dance Nationals:

- Pasha Stepanchuk and Anastasiya Danilova – Amateur Latin Champions
- Evgeny Raev and Gabriella Sabler – Under-21 Latin Champions
- Patryk Ploszaj and Anna Kaczmarski – Youth 10-Dance Champions
- Patryk Ploszaj and Anna Kaczmarski – Youth Standard Champions
- Larry Tokar and Juliana Hoff – Adult Latin Pre-Champ Champions
- Yuriy Markovetskiy and Sara Filip – Junior II Gold Latin Champions

The year that BDSC also had over 2 dozen final appearances and a miraculous 14 of 15 couples making at least one final, it is our National Champions that truly headline this year’s Nationals. All 5 of these couples have trained hard for this opportunity and are now National Champions! It is time to defend these titles next year!

This year’s USA Dance National DanceSport Championships were held in Los Angeles, California at the beautiful JW Marriott at LA Live. Out of all 15 Brooklyn DanceSport Club couples who competed at this year’s USA Dance Nationals, BDSC had an outstanding 14 finalists, with an astonishing 6 National Champions!

The same week that Patryk and Anna became USA’s most successful Junior couple in the history of the Junior Blackpool Dance Festival (by making three finals and a semi-final in their four events), Patryk and Anna had one of the most impressive USA Dance National DanceSport Championships. Winning the Youth Ten-Dance Championships, the Youth Standard Championships, and placing second in the Youth Latin Championships (not winning by only one dance!), Patryk and Anna have already become the most decorated Youth Couple in the US Nationals history and this was their first time competing in this category! Patryk and Anna are truly one of the most exciting couples to watch in the USA and watching them grow in the past number of years has been a true gift! Thank you Patryk and Anna for your dedication to the sport of dancing.

This was yet another final where BDSC had multiple couples competing, with Patryk and Anna becoming the Vice-Champions and Stanislav and Jessica placing 4th in the Youth Latin at the 2013 USA Dance National DanceSport Championships. BDSC has had already over a dozen US National finalists this year with one full day left to go and with a line-up of coaches that include US National Champions and World finalists, it is easy to see why our members are also US National Champions and World finalists! A special congratulations to Patryk and Anna for also being able to represent the United States and BDSC at the 2013 World Youth Latin Championships.

Not only did BDSC have 3 amazing US National Champions Friday evening (Pasha Stepanchuk and Anastasiya Danilova winning Amateur Latin, Evgeniy Raev and Gabriella Sabler winning Under-21 Latin and Patryk Ploszaj and Anna Kaczmarski winning Youth Ten-Dance), BDSC also had 3 finalists in these events! Evgeniy and Gabriella placed 3rd in the Amateur Latin while we had two finalists at the Youth Ten-Dance Championships: Stanislav Pavlov and Jessica Karpishin and Christian Yeung and Samanta Filip. Stanislav and Jessica stood on the podium by placing third and Christian and Samanta placed 6th in the Youth Ten-Dance Championships. An amazing start to the USA Nationals for Brooklyn DanceSport Club’s couples!

Patryk and Anna are 3 for 3 in terms of making the final at their events at the 2013 Junior Blackpool Dance Festival with a number of other events still to come this week. This is a remarkable feat considering that not only are they dancing and performing at a high level, but they are doing it in 2 different categories, Standard and Latin! They made the final in the Viennese Waltz, the Samba and most recently the Five Dance Standard Championships. Anyone who has competed in Ten-Dance knows how hard it is to compete at such a high level in both categories and Patryk and Anna are making it look easy. Brooklyn DanceSport Club is proud of Patryk and Anna and the hard work they put in practicing is paying off. What they are doing at this competition has never been achieved by another Junior American couple and we are wish them continued success!

Patryk and Anna are off to a perfect start at the 2013 Junior Blackpool Dance Festival in Blackpool, England by making the final of their first two events. In their first event, they placed 4th in the Junior II Viennese Waltz and then they followed that result by becoming the 2013 Junior II Samba Vice-Champions at the Junior Blackpool Dance Festival. If they continue this amazing streak of results, they may be one of America’s most decorated Junior couples in Blackpool! We wish them luck in the rest of the events this week.

Patryk and Anna continue to shine as Juniors making the final and placing 4th in the Viennese Waltz at the 2013 final Blackpool Junior Dance Festival. After becoming the WDC Junior II Ballroom World Champions, Patryk and Anna took full advantage of their title and their spectacular, on-par dancing at the event. We want to congratulate them for this wonderful result and good luck in the rest of their events!

Patryk Ploszaj and Anna Kaczmarski capped off an amazing US Nationals by winning their second event, the Junior 2 Latin Championships. They will be traveling to Paris, France for the World Championships later in the year to compete in the Junior 2 Latin and Standard World Championships and we wish them the best of luck there!
