Sometimes the music dancers perform to is so beautiful that dancers never able to capture it. The guitar solo makes your soul weep, this is a special song and a mesmerizing performance by Pasha and Anastasia to match! This couple always dances from the heart and that is exactly why our hearts instinctively respond to their dancing.
Paso Doble Perforformance at 2013 Brooklyn DanceSport Club Anniversary
Traditional black and red Spanish costumes create an appropriate mood for this dramatic Paso Doble.
Creative choreography allowed our young dancers to use a cape to transform gentlemen into toreadors and ladies into their graceful capes. Beautifully danced flamenco section by our Junior/Youth Championship Class.
Artur Tarnavskyy and Patrycja Golak’s Jive at 2013 Brooklyn DanceSport Club Anniversary
The explosive energy and Artur and Patrycja’ spirit make this Jive one of our favorite performances at this event. Ballroom dancing is like life: sometimes we fall, sometimes we make mistakes, sometimes the music stops… This is exactly what happened at this performance. Artur and Patrycja showed us an easy, playful spirit, which made us love them even more.

This week’s “Video of the Week” features a sample clip of Ruud Vermeij teaching with Julie Fryer about personal space and how that is applied to partnering. Brooklyn DanceSport Club will be hosting Ruud Vermeij this week, from April 23rd to April 27th, for BDSC’s “Dance Camp with Ruud Vermeij” where Ruud will be teaching a series of workshops, seminars, and private lessons. This is the perfect chance to learn from the man regarded as one of the world’s premiere coaches and educators; so where will you be this week?

Bright young dancers perform Cha Cha to ‘Gotta Get Thru This’. These kids capture their audience as well as get top awards at the competitions. Clean and clear timing, bold attitude, and charismatic dancers… They did more than just get through it!

Very charismatic performance form our Junior Pre-Championship class. Those kids love what they do. How do we know that for sure? They didn’t just remember their choreography, they also showed a great deal of rhythm, partnering, and skill. All of this was done with a smile throughout their performance.

A very grown-up performance from our young dancers to a timeless ‘Beauty and the Beast’ song. There is a great frame from our young gentlemen and ladies, proper pasture, and correct timing. We see only beauty in this performance.

Samba by Dmitriy Nikishkin & Olena Shvets at 2013 Brooklyn DanceSport Club Anniversary
This was a great performance to watch from Dmitriy and Olena. It is not just the blond hair or shiny golden costumes that captured our attention. This couple has unbelievable chemistry and ‘togetherness’ when they dance. Despite being a very compact couple they dance large. Very rhythmical and always explosive performers.
