Standard Ballroom Dance Schedule for June at Brooklyn DanceSport Club

Due to the limited availability of our Professional Standard coaches, Marat Gimaev and Alina Basyuk, the Standard seminar is as follows:

- Wednesday, June 19th at 7 PM

- Friday, June 21st at 7 PM

- Wednesday, June 26th at 7 PM

- Friday, June 28th at 7 PM

Studio Closed from Friday, May 24th to Monday, May 27th

Due to the Memorial Day Holiday and the Blackpool Dance Festival, BDSC will be closed for 4 days, from Friday, May 24th to Monday, May 27th. We will re-open on Tuesday, May 28th. Schedule Changes for April: Standard Seminar and Studio Closure

Dear members, please note that due to the 2013 WDC Professional Ballroom World Championships in Moscow, Russia the Standard seminar on Wednesday April, 17th has been moved to Friday, April 26th at 7 PM. Please join us in supporting Marat and Alina in this very important competition. In addition, the studio will be closed on Friday, April 19th. We apologize for the inconvenience and please plan accordingly.

USA Dance logoThis weekend, Brooklyn Dancesport Club is going to have a number of couples competing at the 2013 USA Dance Championships in Los Angeles, California. After dancing multiple qualifying regional events, spending endless hours on the practice floor, and showing us all how hard-work directly leads to vast improvement, our couples are ready to compete at this year’s most important domestic competition. We wish them the best of luck this weekend!

The Tri-State Challenge DanceSport Championships is an annual competition held in the end of March in Stamford, Connecticut. It is organized by Esther and David Don and is considered one of the more premier events in the Tri-State area. Congratulations to our couples for their amazing results.

“Photo of the Week” – Brooklyn DanceSport Club Winning the “Top Studio” Award at the 2013 Tri-State Challenge DanceSport Championships

This week’s “Photo of the Week” features BDSC dancers and one of our coaches, Pasha Stepanchuk, hoisting the “Top Studio” trophy from the 2013 Tri-State Challenge DanceSport Championships. This is a great accomplishment for Brooklyn DanceSport Club and is as much an award for the studio as it is for our members. We thank our members for their endearing and ever-lasting support and congratulations on the great results from the weekend. Details of the results will be posted shortly.

Congratulations to Marat Gimaev and Alina Basyuk for their Amazing Results at the 2013 Asian Tour for Professional Ballroom

Every year at the end of February/beginning of March, countries across East Asia host a number of competitions that are part of the Asian Tour. This year, our Professional Standard Coaches, Marat Gimaev and Alina Basyuk, traveled to Tokyo, Taipei and Seoul to take a part in the 2013 Asian Tour. Marat and Alina had an amazing showing this year making the final in 2 of the 3 competitions. The following are Marat and Alina’s Professional Ballroom results from the 3 competitions:

  • World Super Series & Asian Open - Taipei – 6th
  • World Super Series & Asian Open - Seoul – 5th

Schedule Change for February’s Standard Seminar and Run-Through

This month, the Standard Seminar and Run-Through that is usually scheduled to take place every Wednesday at 7 PM and Wednesday at 8:30 PM, respectively, will take place only on Wednesday, February 13th and Wednesday, February 20th. Due to international competitions and conflicts in schedule, these are the only two days the Standard Seminar and Run-Through will take place on. We apologize for the inconvenience and please plan accordingly.
